1,702 companies took part, representing 32 countries, with their best production over a net exhibition area of about 70,000 square metres. The value of about 4,000 machines on show was estimated at 400 million Euro. The international line-up was particularly impressive: 780 companies (45% of total) from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, South Korea, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Great Britain, India, Iran, Israel, Luxembourg, Norway, Holland, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey and the USA. These numbers once again confirm BI-MU as one of the top "national" events in the sector: in terms of exhibition area, the show promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, in short, is much larger that METAV (Germany), JIMTOF (Japan), BIEMH (Spain), MACH (GB) and INDUSTRIE (France). Yet, over and above statistics witnessing the importance of the exhibition event boasting more than half a century of history, special emphasis should also be given to the technological contents that characterise the biennial show held in even years. In keeping with evolution in production technologies, the 26.BI-MU was a truly crossways exhibition that presented the broadest possible range of solutions and technological alternatives involving all fields embraced by the machine tool, robot and automation sector to the benefit and impressive satisfaction of more than 96,000 visitors visiting Milan over the five days of the event. |
